Week 5: Models

Models

Paper model of Room

Cardboard model of Room

The cardboard of the model above was wrapped in working out sheets to promulgate what was primarily conducted in the space.

In terms of flexibility and adaptability, the paper was more accommodating than the cardboard, due to the fineness and malleability of the material. However, the rigid and sturdy nature of the cardboard prevented any tears to occur, and provided a substational model.

The model below communicates the transition space within my site, a corridor connecting to different rooms.

1:1 Layout

1:1 Layout in Illustrator on Template

Modelled out of thick paper.

The layout of the pieces made in Fusion 360 provided a template for the creation of the model. The use of thick paper amalgamated the rigid and stable structure of cardboard, with the flexibility of regular, thin paper, thus proving it easier to work with.
